Intro To The New Dreamweaver 8

November 18th, 2008 by fernandagawel

On August 8 2005, Macromedia announced it’s release of Macromedia Studio 8. This was an improvement of it’s already popular MX2004 Version.

I have been using the new Dreamweaver 8 for the last few weeks and have observed noticeable improvements that I will describe here.

The first improvement that i noticed was the new top and side rulers. This is very helpful in lining up table and layers accurately.

Also, If you like to work with the code, Dreamweaver has Swarovski Crystal White Wedge Cariris Flip Flops Sz 5 6 new feature where you can compress a certain line of code and hide it on the left hand pane. This allows you to hide code that you are not working with, and open it up at anytime if you decide to play with it.

One of the best new features is actually something I had a small gripe with in MX2004. In the previous version, when updating your site with the server, you had to sit there and wait while it uploads all your files. The new version fixes this. In Version 8, you can upload your entire site, AND continue working while your files upload in the background. This is a great new feature.

A couple of other new features and improvements worth noting are:

1. The new CSS Panel - Improved editing and working with your .css styles.

2. The ability to zoom in and out of your webpage.

3. A new coding toolbar

If you haven’t already, I Badgley Mischka recommend getting the new version of Macromedia Dreamweaver 8. You won’t be disappointed. Dreamweaver comes with some great tutorials as well. If you’re not familiar with the program, I would suggest going through all the tutorials.

Why Buy A Nikon D300 DX Digital SLR Camera

November 17th, 2008 by fernandagawel

Is it possible to find heaven Apothecary Glass Beverage Server a camera? More precisely, the Nikon D300 DX Digital SLR Camera. Maybe. Maybe not. As with all great things, there are some blemishes. As good a camera as the D300 is, it’s not for everyone, and knowing who it’s good for is important. At least important to those contemplating buying the D300. Let’s consider some things to watch out for.

As hard as it is to find fault with the Nikon D300, the first thing most people look at when buying anything, is the price. Apologies to Warren Buffett, and Bill Gates (this article is not for you). There are a number of solid contenders in this category, including the Canon EOS 40D, the Pentax K20D, the Olympus E-3, and the Sony Alpha DSLR-A700. At the time of writing, those cameras all sell at a lower price point then the Nikon D300. Anywhere from $200 to $500 less according to Amazon. Which is significant, when you consider what an extra $500 in your lens budget could do for your artwork.

If your this close to full frame, why not just go for it? Is full frame worth it? No, the D300 is not a full frame camera, but there are some full frame cameras for only a few hundred dollars more. Right now, online pricing shows the Canon EOS 5D (full frame) for about $2100, while the D300 is $1800. It would appear, that Nikon has positioned itself between a rock and an hard place with their pricing. For a few hundred dollars less I can buy a comparable camera from a number of vendors, or for a few hundred dollars more, I could buy a genuine full frame camera. Some would argue that going for the full frame technology is a no brainer.

While discussing price, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the predecessor to the D300, the Nikon D200. A fine camera for sure, and priced currently below the $1000 mark. The D300 does have a few upgrades you will miss out on of course, such as live view, HDMI output, better grip, free NX Capture software, and a few extra megapixels. There had to be something to upgrade for after all. Although I’ve heard from a number of D200 owners that couldn’t be bothered, and are sticking with their D200.

As hard as it is to find fault with the Nikon D300 DX Digital SLR (believe me I looked), I’d still have my doubts about buying one. It’s kind of too bad, as Canon and others could do with some serious price competition in this category. I’d have a hard time justifying the D300, when I could save up to $500 for an equivalent Canon, or really spoil myself with a full frame temptress at an extremely competitive price.

A New Outlook Through Self Awareness

November 17th, 2008 by fernandagawel

Self awareness allows us to take in new information as it comes to us. It allows a person to consider an idea before automatically rejecting it. It is being able to know that a person’s perception of the world has a powerful effect on how they experience everyday life. As perceptions change, so do experiences. If your perception of life is that the glass is half empty, perhaps it is time for a new outlook.

Changing perceptions can transition a person virtually that person can become a self actualized happy person, even in the middle of seeming calamity. When a perception is that old adage of waiting for the other shoe to drop, a person lives in a self focused perception. In doing so, they miss all the small gifts given to every one of us each day. When the attitude or perception changes and a person is no longer focused on what may or may not happen, or even on what has already happened, they begin to stop regretting every decision they Apothecary Weight Chart made in the past and stop worrying about every decision they will make in the future. In doing so, they become open to learning; learning from past mistakes and learning new behaviors and reactions to life.

Attitudes are free to grow and shift at any time. A person can focus upon a fear based life or a freedom based life. Each person has the choice to move from a negative perception of life to a positive one. How do you do that? In order for a perception change to begin a person has to be willing to change certain beliefs that may actually be ingrained within them. A major part of changing our perceptions means that a person has to be willing to look at their current belief system scrutinizing it honestly. Simply put, a person needs to ask themselves simple questions such as “Is this belief system working for me?” or “Is it promoting positive perceptions in my life or negative ones?”

This is not always an easy task to accomplish. Some of these belief systems are a part of what makes up a person’s character. It takes courage and a strong desire to change. A person has to change in order to realize what the value of a different perception can be. It is vitally important that a person remember that it is a belief that is being scrutinized and not the person themselves.

Many times as people look at their own beliefs they find that it is not the belief itself that is the problem, but that they themselves have forgotten in the hectic lifestyles of today’s world what they hold as truth for themselves. By stopping and looking at their own beliefs, many times they can change their own outlook by returning to what they have always believed in and just stopped practicing.

It is up to each person what choices they make in their belief system and as a result what perception they have on life. It is their own responsibility for how they perceive the world around them. Opening up to new perceptions can be a bit scary and intimidating. Stopping to realize that changing your attitude and outlook upon life is not a result of changing you as a person, but as a result of some hard soul searching can make the task a bit less frightening.

The action of stopping to allow yourself the time to determine what your own beliefs are many times is the key to having a positive outlook on life.

Finding Clothing From Local Sources

November 16th, 2008 by fernandagawel

Environmental concerns are coming to the forefront in all walks of life. Media coverage of environmental issues has become very pronounced in recent years, with all aspects of our lives coming under the microscope.

Where the products that we purchase were originally produced is at the heart of the problem for many. It’s become fashionable to think about our food purchases in terms of food miles, for example.

The concept behind food miles is basically a way of examining how far our food travels before it reaches our dinner tables.

The reason why some environmentalists suggest that this is important is because food that travels long distances is likely to have been transported by air, road or sea. To differing degrees, environmentalists see each of these methods of transport as having an effect on the planet in terms of pollution.

Is it time for us to start thinking about clothing miles too?

After all, our clothes are often transported over long distances too. Should we be taking this into account when purchasing our clothes?

Some suggest that we certainly should do. Buying items originally produced in the Far East, for example, may mean that the production costs are lower and that we pay less for the garments.

But what about the cost to the environment?

Those with concerns about developing countries of the world point out that if we stop buying clothes from poorer nations of the world then we could harm their development.

It’s undoubtedly a difficult moral issue. Next time you buy an item of clothing, whether it be made from natural fibres or otherwise, you’ll need to consider where you stand on the issue.

The decision that you’ll need to take will be based on whether you feel that purchasing clothes from further away does more harm to the environment, or whether economic issues also need to be considered.

Good News - Your IQ is Not Set in Stone

November 14th, 2008 by fernandagawel

Over the years, I have heard the experts say time and time again that your IQ is developed by the age Vera Bradley Denim 5 years old and there is nothing that you can do Pottery Barn Crown Molding Ledge Black improve it. Now, with new scientific studies, another law Swarvoski Outlet science turns out to be nothing more than myth. Recent scientific studies have proven that even with advancing age, the human brain has far more plasticity than we ever thought possible. Recently, there have been a whole new genre of self-help material on how to improve your IQ. I personally don’t know which system works the best as the field of IQ improvement. It is simply too new. There are books promoting a visualization system, self-hypnosis tapes, subliminal tapes Ebooks and more promoting different methods of improving your IQ. I can’t tell you which system is best but, I can tell you that as least some of these systems do work. Only time will tell which system or combination of systems work the best. As I just said, I know that at least some of these systems work. Prior to trying one of the systems, I took a standard IQ test. The result was as expected, I scored a respectable 130-not a genius but well above average. After two months on the IQ system, I took another IQ test. I really did not expect to see any real change. To my surprise, my IQ test results were 25 points higher than they had ever been before. To say that I was shocked was putting it mildly.

Only time will tell which system is best and if there are any real long-term changes. One of the areas of conjecture at this time, is are these results permanent or are the changes just short term. Short term results are very promising but, it also appears that in order to maintain these gains, that the system must be consistently applied to maintain the results. Only time will tell. In the meantime, I think that it is worthwhile for me to spend the hour a day that it takes to apply the system.

One final note, IQ is not and never has been a key factor in the attainment of success. Many of the most successful people today and historically, have had no more than an average IQ. Determination and a burning desire for success seem to be the real key to success. On the other side of that, it certainly can’t hurt to have an IQ that makes it easier to remember, analyze and help in the decision making process.

Stay tuned. As I follow through with this process,I will be filing more reports on my progress and whatever changes take place in my life.

Dressing For Independence - Discovering The Educational Value In Girls And Boys Clothes

November 13th, 2008 by fernandagawel

Encouraging independence is a crucial part of helping your child develop and grow as an individual. You can help your child become more independent and confident by encouraging them to perform simple daily tasks by themselves such as helping to lay the table at meal times, looking after a family pet or getting dressed. Read more about it here.

One small step for mankind, one huge leap for toddlers

A normal daily task for us such as getting dressed can represent an exciting challenge for a toddler and can help nurture important life skills such as making decisions and seeing an action through from beginning to end. Mastering such tasks and developing these skills will also provide your child with a huge sense of achievement.

As parents and carers we shouldn’t overlook or underestimate the learning and developmental opportunities presented for us to share with our children as we go about our busy daily lives; this way we can integrate our hectic schedules with caring for and supporting our children in the most effective way we can.

Decisions, decisions

Let’s stick with the example of getting dressed. Learning to make decisions is an important stage in any child’s development, and helping them to form opinions and exercise choice in a safe environment will stand them in good stead as they progress through life. So involve them at an early stage in choosing which clothes they would like to wear. Encourage them to think about their choice and to choose appropriately by asking guiding questions; ‘ What’s the weather like? Do you think it’s warm or cold outside?’ etc. If you have time explore the reasons for their choice, encouraging them to express their likes and dislikes and taking the opportunity to broaden their vocabulary by getting them to describe the clothes (’It feels soft and comfortable’, ‘The label’s a bit scratchy’ etc). Where possible let their choice win - what does it matter if the trousers they have chosen don’t colour coordinate perfectly with the top? If you’re worried about the time involved to achieve all this in your tight morning schedule then you could always choose clothes together the night before when perhaps you have more time and are more relaxed.

Motoring ahead to independence

Once the clothes have been chosen, all the buttons, zippers and poppers will have your little one’s fine motor skills working overtime. In fact children tend to learn how to get undressed before they learn how to get dressed as they can pull their way out of most things, but getting into them in the first place takes a lot more practice! These fine motor skills require small muscle movement and concentration. Teaching them involves time and patience so be sure to leave enough time when encouraging them to get more hands on.

Be aware that your child is likely to experience frustration, a sense of being overwhelmed and possibly failure but approach the task as an opportunity to help them work through these complex feelings with encouragement and support. Your praise is vital. To ease the way as they start to learn to dress themselves you could also choose simple clothes with minimal buttons and fastenings. All this might mean getting up an extra 5 minutes earlier but it will be worth it as you help your toddler develop these all important skills, work through these emotions and are eventually rewarded with their beam of accomplishment when they have finally got completely dressed by themselves.

A sense of identity

Your child’s clothing can help foster a sense of independence in another important way. What we choose to wear and how we present ourselves to others helps both shape and represent our identity. A child who has been encouraged to be free thinking from an early age is likely to have a clearer idea of self and the clothes they choose to wear can help contribute to this.

Other learning activities with your children’s clothing include encouraging them to help tidy up and put away, sorting out the washing into piles of light and dark colours, loading up the washing machine and hanging the washing out to dry. All this demonstrates how your child’s clothing can have more value than just surface value if you just take a bit of time to understand the importance of the role it can play in your child’s development and have the imagination to apply it to your day to day lives.

Beyond Jeans - Grab The Hot Denim Trends This Fall

November 5th, 2008 by fernandagawel

Hard to believe that it’s only July and we’re already talking about fall clothing lines. As many of you fashionistas know though, many designers have already started rolling our their winter lines. I, for one, can’t stand the thought of talking about sweaters and tights quite yet, so we’ll ease in to it with a happy medium; denim.

Some top, high-end designers like Kippys, Pierce Jeans, and REOSTARR are flooding the market with their denim wares already, and whether it be jeans, jackets, or purses, it’s denim all the way. Some are even doing a throwback to the 80s and rocking out with rhinestones.

Kippys specializes in denim, leather and fur. Again, I have a hard time imagining leather or fur when it’s a sweltering 90 degrees outside, but I can stomach denim; plus the awesome belts that go with it. In addition, Hollywood thinks Kippys is pretty hot too; just ask Elizabeth Hurley and Madonna, both of whom have sported their belts.

Rhinestone roses, hearts and celtic chains run across the pockets and legs of some of their jeans. Their belts come in a variety of widths from 1/2 inch wide to 4 1/4 inches wide and are embellished like no others. With crystal colors like Padparadscha, Heliotrope, and Volcano, who can resist this clothing line?

Another hot denim designer, Pierce Jeans, is rocking the simple and sophisticated look that only denim can bring to the casual girl. Carrying denim in dark, dark blues to upbeat reds, Pierce has it all covered. Their fall line includes both the revised, higher waisted jean with the slimming leg as well as the trouser jean that has become so popular. Featured in hot fashion magazines as well as being worn by the likes of Teri Hatcher and Eva Mendez, Pierce Jeans has secured themselves in the hearts of hot Hollywood fashion icons.

REOSTARR is taking another avenue and meeting those with simple and those with rhinestones half way. If their denim isn’t plain, it has patches and strategically placed holes. Of course, no pair would be complete without their signature star on their pockets. Whatever they do, Hollywood loves them too! Natalia Livingston was seen wearing them at the “Into the West” premier and have been seen in magazines from Lucky to People.

All across the land, denim is loved by many. These are just a few examples of what some of the high-end denim designers are doing this year and I’m sure that other designers, like Lucky, Levi, and Seven will be sure to follow. While you’re out picking up new notebooks and pencils, whether it be for yourself or your kids, pick up a pair of these great jeans and you’ll definitely be on top of one of fall’s hottest denim trends.

If you’re like me, you’re probably thinking of ways to make you just Swarovski Outlet Stores little bit richer, and without having to worry about changing jobs or working too hard to do so. Well, Pottery Barn Addison Headboard great news is that there are hundreds of ways to do this on the internet, and the even better news is that you can start today. It’s called MLM marketing, and there are many MLM companies out there, so you’re bound to find one that interests you. However, make sure you do what I did, and check these companies out first before spending anything.

MLM marketing (or Multi Level Marketing) is pretty easy, and that’s what I like about it. Basically, you get something to sell, and find other people to not only buy it, but sell Vera Bradley Eyeglass Frames for you too. Then you all get a share of the profits, so everybody wins! Great, huh? But like I say, there are hundreds of MLM companies out there, so I recommend you do the following to make sure you get hooked up with the best:

* Look at the company’s track record. This is pretty easy to do, but it can save you a whole heap of money. When I was looking for the right MLM company, I made sure I found out how long they’d been going. This is really a no-brainer, since it’s usually the best companies that last the longest.

* Ask about a fixed phone number and a real address. Let’s face it, you and I Pottery Barn Kids Plush Lion Toy that without an address, you’re classed as homeless, and do you really Vera Bradley Knock Off Hipster Floral Mod Pink to give all your Pottery Barn Kids Princess Pea away to a homeless company? Me neither. And unless they have a phone number where I can reach them day or night, they’re not getting my money either.

* Speak to real people. I had seen a lot of “testimonials” by people who’d succeeded at companies while I was looking for the MLM company I wanted to join. But then I Coach Sabrina Leather Handbag anyone can write a testimonial, and it could all be made up too! So try and speak to actual people who’ve been successful within that company. It’s pretty easy to do, as well - if it’s a decent company, the owner will give you names of people you can actually speak to.

* Costs. This is one of the biggest things you need to Swarovski Vintage Vera Bradley Capri Melon Beach Towel I say, I’m not rich so I can’t afford to throw money left, right and center. So I made sure I knew what extra costs might be involved, like a monthly subscription or minimum purchases of the things I want to sell.

* Ask what the realistic potential of the business is. Sure, I could tell you that I want to make a million in my first year, but come on - how likely is that? So find out what you need to spend, and how much you should expect back.

At the end of the day, a good MLM company wants you to succeed just as much as you do. After all, any profit I make, they’ll make too. So don’t be afraid to ask questions beforehand - I did, and now I’m making a nice amount to allow me extra vacation this year, and I can’t argue with that!
